Upon request by a participant in the Tender Procedure and in accordance with the paragraph 17.3, Volume I - Instruction to Bidders of the Tender Documentation for the International Public Invitation No.01-1/2008, we are informing You that the final deadline for submitting the bids for the selection of the best bidder for financing, construction and operation of the Combined Cycle Heat and Power Plant “Energetika”, as a partner in Joint Venture Company with JSC “ELEM” is being extended up to 20th of May 2009.

We sincerely hope that the extension of the deadline for submission of bids, will give all the prospective bidders an opportunity to prepare their bids in more substantial and competitive manner.

  JSC ELEM with investment of over 2 million euros - Investment will be implemented by the German company “Siemens”

 
  JSC Macedonian Power Plants will invest 2, 2 million Euros individual assets for implementation of SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system which will provide precise planning and regulation of the existing thermal and hydro plants during the electricity production.

The prime technology which will connect the capacities for electricity production will be located in the Head Office of JSC ELEM in Skopje, and the hardware and software solutions will be provided and implemented by the reputable German Company “Simens” whose bid was selected as the most favorable on the international public invitation with pre – qualification phase that was announced the last year.

„With realization of this project, we invest in our professional equipment and personnel but at the same time, even in the modernization and improvement of the company’s performances which represent important factor in the energy system of Republic of Macedonia. The aim is unique – to be provided constant and quality production of electricity. “ – said Ph. D.E.E Vlatko Cingoski, General Manager of JSC ELEM.

According to the contract signed between JSC ELEM and “Simens”, the German company, the new equipment should be installed and commissioned until the end of this year. For the necessities of the SCADA system, JSC ELEM has already started to train personnel which will be adequately qualified to answer to the working process.

  JSC ELEM in 2009 will invest above 2,7 million euros individual asset for reconstruction of the turboagregates in “ENERGETIKA”

 
  JSC “Macedonian Power Plants” in public ownership, will invest above 2,7 million euros individual asset for entire reconstruction and modernization of two turboagregates in its production capacity “Energetika” located in the settlement Zelezarnica in Skopje. JSC ELEM successfully finalized tender procedure for selection of contractor of the works and this significant project was awarded to the Croatian company “Alstom” from Karlovac, selected as the best ranked from the international public invitation.

Subject of the investment is modernization of the old turbines produced in the period from 1964 to 1966 which were out of order for years and which after project realization will work in co – generation regime and they will produce electricity and thermal energy combined. With project realization, JSC ELEM additionally will receive at disposal approximately 30 MW newly installed power for the necessities of energy power system in Republic of Macedonia. The subsidiary “Energetika” is predicted to produce annually up to160 GWh of electricity with simultaneous possibility for production up to 200 GWh thermal energy. The natural gas will be used as plant fuel which until now was used at the same location only for production of thermal energy.

It is expected for this investment considerably to reduce the expenses for production of thermal energy and at the same time to increase the efficiency of the aggregates during production of electricity. “Alstom”, according to the contract, will have to finish the planned reconstruction before the beginning of the following heat season respectively latest to the middle of October 2009 when both turboagregates will be at disposal of JSC ELEM, prepared to deliver electricity for the necessities of the energy power system of Republic of Macedonia and thermal energy for the necessities of the local thermal system of JSC ELEM.

  Mining energy complex "Bitola" and the Russian company "Energomsinogradba" today in Moscow signed Minutes of Meeting for cooperation which predicts mutual realization of the programme for long term development of Bitola mining energy complex.
The collaboration between the two companies, which is traditional, should found on the contemporary technical solution and modernization of the energetic units of the thermo power plants "Bitola" which will be in function of the improving of its technical economic work characteristics.

  The regular annual overhaul was concluded, REK "Oslomej" was included in the energy power system

 
  After the completed annual overhaul activities, TP "Oslomej" the night before the last in 8:00 p.m. is again switched on and synchronized in the energy power system of Republic of Macedonia. The thermo power plant with installed capacity of 125 MW continued to produce electricity regarding the system necessities and in accordance with the energy Balance for this year. Before the entrance in regular overhaul from 25th of April, REK "Oslomej" produced around 250 GW/h of electricity or 10, 3 % more than the planned production inclusive with the first four months from this year. This thermo power plant has delivered around 42% from the predicted annual production to the energy power system until now and inclusive with December it should produce 350 GW/h more which represents 10 % from the total projected home production for 2008.

  Formally commissioning of conveyor “Bandvagen 1800” in mine Suvodol

 
  The General Manager of AD ELEM PhD Vlatko Cingoski and the manager of REK "Bitola" Zoran Konjanovski today in mine Suvodol commissioned in function self – propelled conveyor "Bandvagen 1800" , plant heavy 670 tons with value of 5,4 million euros.

- We expect this machine at the beginning of the following year to contribute in the functioning of mine Brod - Gneotino and to provide planned coal for plants "Bitola" and respectively to enable continual function of all three units, emphasized Cingoski on the ceremony in Suvodol.
Cingoski announced modernization of the three units in REK "Bitola" in order to be used more economically. - Total production of the plants in Macedonia flows with the predicted dynamics and more than 45 % from the necessities respectively from the assumed responsibility towards the country are already realized. Inclusive with 15th of June more than 2,6 milliard kilowatt hours electricity are produced, PhD Cingovski emphasized. As a following priority he pointed at the passing of the new Energy law. Assembling of "Bandvagen" conveyor started on 1st of November last year under supervision of the equipment producer "Thyssen-Krupp".
- The conveyor was assembled by the workers in REK "Bitola" and few companies subcontractors – "Fakom", "Kaskada" and "Kargo-inspekt" where 500.000 euros were saved, - emphasized the manager of REK "Bitola", Zoran Konjanovski.
In the first five months from this year in REK "Bitola" the production of coal is increased for 300.000 tons compared with the previous year which has contributed for saving in the amount of 10.000 euros. In this period the production of electricity is increased for 30.000 megawatt hours.

Bandvagen BRs 1800/37 + 39x16,5 is self – propelled conveyor with individual wheel booms with the purpose of receiving slag, coal or any other material and its continual transport from receiving conveyor (T1) to unloading conveyor (T2) of the system conveyors with rubber belts.

The assembling of the bandvagen started on 1st of November 2007 on the assembling plateau of REK "Bitola" which was realized by adepts and workers from the Complex and work force from external contractors which with valid contracts are included in maintaining of the technological process in REK "Bitola". The supervision of assembling , as obligation from the contract was by the producer of the equipment Thyssen-Krupp.
For preserving of the legal norms for assembling of this kind of mining machine, an independent external institution KARGO – INSPEKT from Skopje with obligation for examination and control of the welded layers, steel construction and anticorrosive protection is involved.
In the following period there will be transport of the plant to the place of usage where it is expected to arrive at the beginning of the following month.
The trial work of the plant, which is also obligation in the contract, will start in July with one shift working and it will end after 192 working hours with work in three shifts. If in this trial period the plant satisfies the necessary capacity, it is delivered to the investor for its continual usage and from that period starts the guarantee period.
So far in the practice of REK Bitola. assembling of different equipment was performed by famous assembling companies. This time with support by the management of AD ELEM and REK "Bitola" the responsibility was taken over by the team of tested, experienced, and quality expert personnel from the Complex leaded by Naum Kusovski, Robert Zinzovski and Stojan Ristevski which have ended the assembly of the conveyor quality, expertly and promptly.
